A.A. (Abraham Archibald) Anderson (1847-1940) was an artist of international reputation when he came to Wyoming and founded the Palette Ranch on the Greybull River. He was influential in persuading Pres. Theodore Roosevelt to create the Yellowstone Forest Reserve (later renamed the Shoshone National Forest) and became its first superintendant on July 1, 1902.
